Who We Are

World champions
who love to teach.

Diego and Yaritza came to New York City chasing salsa on the highest level — and have spent over a decade competing, performing, and teaching across 40+ countries. Now they help dancers around the world build real foundations and dance with confidence.

Diego Rivera Ibarra

Diego grew up in Costa Rica, where salsa wasn't a dance style — it was just how life sounded. He moved to New York City to train under the legendary Adolfo Indacochea of Latin Soul Dancers, and the city never really let him go. That immersion in New York's On2 scene shaped everything: the way he moves, the way he hears music, the way he teaches. Over more than a decade of touring and competing, Diego has taken that approach to 40+ countries and earned titles at the sport's most celebrated stages — Euroson Latino, the World Salsa Summit, and the Las Vegas Ultimate Latin Dance Championship. His teaching is just as specific: New York-style On2 partnerwork, footwork, and body movement, delivered with the kind of detail that makes the music finally make sense.

Yaritza Arboleda

Yaritza grew up in Lima, Peru, where she started dancing at ten and never really stopped. She trained in everything she could find — ballet, jazz, contemporary, Afro-Peruvian dance, gymnastics — and by her teens she was competing internationally and appearing on national television. At eighteen, she did what her ambition demanded: she packed up and moved to New York City to train under Adolfo Indacochea of Latin Soul Dancers — the same teacher who had shaped Diego's understanding of the music. That shared foundation became the beginning of D&Y Salsa Academy, the Latin Fever Ladies women's dance team, and a career built entirely on doing the thing she loves in front of people who feel it too.

Why Salsa

Salsa changes more than your dancing.

Scared to talk to strangers? Feel unsure of yourself in social situations?

Salsa trains you to connect with anyone — calm, confident, and completely at ease.

Feel awkward around friends or freeze up when you meet new people?

Dancing makes you more fun and easier to talk to — and that confidence spills into everything else.

Want to look more attractive?

Salsa makes you move better and stand taller. People notice — a lot.

Tired of workouts you can't stick to?

Salsa burns serious calories — and it's so fun that staying consistent takes care of itself.
